Grapefruit Soda

What’s more refreshing than the sweet, citrusy flavor of grapefruit? One of the best ways to enjoy this flavor is a Grapefruit Soda! It’s bubbly and refreshing, ideal for sipping on its own or adding to mixed drinks as a mixer. While you can find many brands at the store, stirring it up at home is even tastier! All you need are three ingredients to make a homemade soda with the best bubbly flavor. We couldn’t stop sipping it, and of course it’s fantastic in a Paloma.

Ingredients in grapefruit soda

Grapefruit soda is a carbonated drink flavored with grapefruit juice and sugar. There are many brands on the market, including Squirt, Ting, and Fresca. The sweet tart flavor makes it an ideal choice as a cocktail mixer, used in popular drinks like the Mexican Paloma and the Finnish Long Drink. You can also make it homemade using fresh squeezed grapefruit juice with three simple ingredients:

By the glass vs pitcher

You can make DIY grapefruit soda two ways: by the glass or in a large pitcher! The pitcher style is great for entertaining so that you can keep refilling glasses without measuring for every glass.

  • By the glass: Add ¼ cup simple syrup and ¼ cup fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. Top it off with 1 cup soda water.
  • Pitcher: Add 1 cup simple syrup, 2 cups grapefruit juice and 8 cups club soda to a pitcher. Make sure to only do this for a party though: leftovers don’t last because the sparkling water becomes flat over time.
